OK,so this month i decided to give you,in my opinion, the best of ex Yu punk scene!This will all be just one big post that i will edit and add new bands.I'll upload everything i have from the selected bands and most of them played hc punk so i won't be giving such data,and I'll only write the country they came from.The punk scene in Yugoslavia started in the late 70's when bands, such as Paraf (cro), Pankrti(slo), Termiti (cro) and others were formed under the influence of punk 77.Punk scene in ex Yu was most developed in Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia.In the 80's,and later on, it was enriched with other
sub-genres like hc punk , oi, crust, grindcore...When punk emerged in Yugoslavia, it was still a communist country, and, as everywhere else, the government was not happy with the rebellion that appeared and started spreading all over the country, so at the beginning of 80's there was a "Nazi punk affair" where all the people who listened to punk music were marked as fascist, they were arrested, their homes searched without any cause, their tapes, badges, fanzines confiscated ,but after a while it all ended but the scene was still there.80's were a period where some of the greatest bands,with recognizable hc punk (mostly) sound, were playing - U.B.R. , Tozibabe, Distress, Solunski Front,Patareni,Necrophilia, III Kategorija, Proces, Odpadki Civilizacije, SDA, Giuseppe Carabino, Kaos and many others.The 90's brought a bit different sound whit an emerge bands who stared playing crust punk and d-beat, even noisecore.Unfortunately, during the 90's those bands had plenty material to work with since a civil war in Yugoslavia (1991-1995) broke out ,which lead to split of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia,but fortunately the punk scenes kept existing in all the countries that once were one.I'd like to emphasize that this is very very underrated scene..
